A Day in Gisborne

Had a chance today to check out the parish of Gisborne where I will be working from Oct 1. Was given a cooks tour and they have some very impressive plant and clearly are a parish wanting to go places. Also met their curate "Raffaella" and took her out to lunch to get to know one another. She certainly has a warm heart for the people there and look forward to working with her in ministry. The vicarage is soon to be replaced, and in some ways that is rather sad because it has a sense of charm about it.
After lunch made off for the wombat forest and got completely bushed on the back tracks. Even the GPS gave up the ghost. We eventually made it to Mt Franklin to check out the area for a camping stay there over the Melbourne Cup weekend. Good choice.
Working bee at Werribee tomorrow and then the Grand Final (on TV).
